Hearts and Lipstick

We are enjoying quieter times now that the holidays have passed.  The weather has been tolerable (until I sat down to write this; it's -25 right now) and we're hoping spring makes an early arrival.

Massie had minor surgery last month to insert tubes into her ears.  She was plagued by constant ear infections and enough was enough.  The surgery went flawlessly - immediately after waking from the anesthesia she was cuddling with me and eating pretzels.  Since the surgery there have been no sicknesses.  It's really a life changing operation (just as it was for Rory).

The girls are getting so big now - it's now easy to understand what people mean when they say not to blink as before we know it the kids will be grown.  I may be a little melodramatic, they are still quite young, but I'm working at enjoying the moments with them and not wishing for the next milestone.

Swimming (without getting your face wet)
We finally got Rory into swimming classes.  This might seem like a not-so-significant feat but.the Tiger Moms take registration day seriously and Yuri almost got hurt the first time he tried to sign her up.  She's still not keen on getting her head wet but at least she's more comfortable in the water.  Here she is taking direction from her teacher.

Yuri turns 40
It's hard to believe that Yuri, the never aging man, has turned 40.  Although he wasn't here for the actual day, we helped him celebrate when he returned.  Below are the girls decorating his Birthday banner - Rory is too busy to look at the camera but Massie is happy to ham it up.

We made Yuri a "40 kisses for your 40th Birthday" card.  This involved lots of kisses and lipstick.  The girls loved it!

Valentine's Day
We made homemade Valentine's Day cards this year and Massie wanted a front row seat for the creative hurricane that is Rory.

The creative whirlwind dropped a googly eye on an unsuspecting Massie.

WWWW
Christi and Karen hosted a super fun evening last weekend.  We started the night off painting wine glasses and then moved upstairs for a yummy dinner, wine and lively conversation.  Oh, and there were mustaches too!

Stay warm...winter's almost over!
