The Calm After the Christmas Storm

Ahhhhh...as fun as the holidays were it has been nice to have the month of January to decompress.  Down time was strange at first but relaxation has come and it's been fabulous.

Before we get to the pictures we have BIG NEWS!  We expect to become very rich soon - the Morgan household will no longer have to purchase diapers!!!!!  Massie Morgan is officially potty trained.  Yippee!

Now to the pictures...

New Year's Eve
The entire Morgan clan was invited over to the Sundborgs home to celebrate the end of 2013 and welcome in 2014.  The champagne flowed, the food was aplenty and we feel so blessed to have these opportunities to spend time with our friends and their families.

The girls and I made our own party hats...here we are modeling them before heading over to the Sundborgs to celebrate.

There were a ton of activities for the kids over the evening - including face painting!  Rory the butterfly.

The kiddos (and Yuri) congregating in anticipation of the count down to midnight.

The Snow Machining Sisters
Last summer we purchased a used snow machine for the girls.  My brothers and I had one that the whole neighborhood used - fond memories that will be with me always.  We have one of the only vacant lots in our neighborhood right in our back yard so we turned it into a track for the girls.  Here are two lucky and excited girls!

The girls switching out...Massie's turn.

Yuri spends a lot of time chasing them down.

Snow - the meal of champions.

A pretty girl on a pretty day.

Warwick Birthdays
Early January sees birthday celebrations for both my folks.  Here is our get-together for Mom's birthday - Rory and Massie love to help with the candles.

A few days later the girls help with cake number two for Grandad's birthday.

Harding Lake
As I think I've mentioned in earlier blogs, we have been experiencing unseasonably warm temperatures this year. The last month has been no different - beautifully warm weather and we love it!  Warm weather means that we get to enjoy the cabin more frequently.

Playing games is a frequent pastime at the cabin - here we are trying out Operation for the first time.

I caught Rory in her fort checking out pictures of herself.

Yuri and his girls looking out over the lake.

Wow...look at the lack of snow.  Remember, this photo was taken in the middle of January in ALASKA!

Not the best sledding conditions my dear.

Our Girls
Rory is in dance class again - both ballet and tap.  She is a good student who is takes dance seriously.  We are quite proud of her.

Rory at the wash bowl before a much needed haircut.

Pink and purple streaks to celebrate shorter hair.

Both girls went through a short phase of wearing sunglasses in the morning - when it's pitch black out.  Perhaps getting ready to fend off the paparazzi  in their later years (let's hope not).

The girls have always been a little hesitant around water but lately shower time has been fun.  I didn't catch Massie in a blink-of-an-eye awkward moment...this is actually her "zen/calm" expression.  She had it the entire time...such a funny kid.

Showing off the fun post-Christmas gifts from Grandpa Sid and Grandma Karen.

The amazing acrobatic Morgan sisters!

And...the nudest.  What can I say, she loves to be free.

That's all for now folks...
